Specialties: What Sets Us Apart From Other Connecticut Shoreline Pet Care Providers

Veterinary Specialties

Clinton Veterinary Hospital offers a one-stop shop for pet care. And, although we pride ourselves on the comprehensiveness of our pet care delivery, it’s our specialty areas that we believe make us stand out as veterinary care providers in the Connecticut shoreline area.

Allergy Testing

Our allergy testing services offer a diagnostic capability that is unmatched. That’s because we can administer as well as analyze all the tests onsite. After that, our in-house pharmacy will fill any prescription the doctor ordered.

The most common types of allergies in pets are:

  • Flea allergies
  • Food allergies
  • Atopic dermatitis (allergic inhalant dermatitis)

Itchy or infected skin is the most common sign your pet has one of these allergies. Bring him or her in right away for testing, and we will get them on the mend.

Cancer Treatment

Our oncology services revolve around our diagnostic capabilities. Through ultrasound and blood testing, as well as biopsy (for skin cancer and tumors), our staff is able to quickly and accurately diagnose cancer in your pet. After that, we design a treatment plan that may involve:

  • Surgery
  • Chemotherapy
  • Radiation
  • Vaccines to boost the immune system

Skin care is not just about grooming and looking pretty. Skin care can provide a major quality of life improvement to your pets. From detecting a cancerous lump to preventing an infestation of fleas on a flea-allergic pet, great skin care equals great health care.

EKG (Electrocardiogram)

Observing the electrical activity of a heart is a surefire way of detecting functionality issues and preventing or mitigating heart disease. Our facility has advanced EKG equipment and our veterinarians are experienced in analyzing EKG results.

If the heart is the body’s engine, the endocrine system is the gasoline. It consists of the thyroid gland, the adrenal glands, the pancreas, and the hypothalamus and pituitary gland (hormone-secreting regions of the brain). That means, it runs your entire body. And for that reason, we specialize in diagnosing and treating any disorder within that system.
